LlamaZOO in VR Village at Extraordinary Future
Last week, LlamaZOO attended Extraordinary Future Conference – a showcase of Vancouver’s (and Victoria’s!) vibrant tech industry. This conference aimed to unite and inspire Vancouver’s entrepreneur, finance, and tech communities with exceptional future thinking content.
BC is gaining fame on a global level as a city that punches above its weight in innovation sectors, and this event was a great platform to promote and showcase the amazing talent we have here and connect companies with the financing and investment community. The VRARA sponsored ‘VR Village’ was the place to see companies presenting the latest tech advances in VR and offering attendees the opportunity to step into the future of real estate, retail and mineral investment.
Visitors and investors came into our LlamaZOO backyard to experience our latest projects which use our VR data visualization expertise to solve real world problems in the mining, oil and gas, and engineering industries. Our project Coal Mountain 2 VR for Teck Resources sparked a lot of interest since natural resources and mining is a big deal in Vancouver.
Coal Mountain 2 VR, is the first of its kind in the world – a VR experience that presents a truly 3D representation of a mine plan from exploration to closure, at scale and using actual planning and geospatial data.
Our Co-Founder and VP of Sales, Kevin Oke was also on a panel giving his advice and thoughts about Virtual Reality in Vancouver and why this city is proving a successful hub of growth and development. He commented on the great relationships in Vancouver are helping drive success whole across the board – such as mining and how new technologies solutions can help revitalize and improve this industry.
