LlamaZOO Adventures at #BCTECH Summit 2017
Last month, the LlamaZOO team joined more than 1000 companies at the #BCTECH Summit 2017 in Vancouver. Innovative ideas and over 5000 people from all over BC were squeezed into the largest technology-specific gathering in Canada, and they were all looking towards what’s on the tech horizon – and one of those things is LlamaZOO shaped.
LlamaZOO was showcasing our products on the Future Realities floor. This specialized area was for companies handpicked by Microsoft for being local creators and pioneers, and it was THE place for all things AR/VR/MR. Visitors came into the LlamaZOO jungle to experience the next generation of e-learning, interactive 3D visualization, and the most accurate anatomical canine model from EasyAnatomy on HTC Vive and Microsoft HoloLens.
Day 1 was a bustle of delegates and talks, with speakers such as BC’s Premier, Christy Clark and companies from Tesla to IBM to EA. Our booth was brimming with business professionals and investors coming to try out our demo. Day 2 was focused around youth innovation and the next generation of technology in BC. The industry is booming right now and will continue to grow in the footsteps of all the students and teachers that came to talk with us – and let us tell you the reactions to our platforms were llama-tastic!
We even had a visit from Amirk Virk, the Minister of Technology, Innovation & Citizens’ Services, who’s been following LlamaZOO closely since it was founded, and the Honourable Shirley Bond, Minister of Jobs, Tourism and Skills Training & Minister Responsible for Labour who were proud to see BC companies leading the way developing these new platforms.
It was a whirlwind Summit full of incredible dynamic products and brilliant minds, set on working together to invest in BC’s strength in the global tech market. #BCTECH Summit made this video to roundup the awesomeness and you can find LlamaZOO featured at 1.26 & 1.31!
